There are four steps to creating a website. The best way to explain it is to compare it with how a house is constructed.

Just like meeting with your architect, we meet (usually for 1 to 2 hours) and guide you in creating a blueprint. We love to brainstorm and come up with creative ideas that will make your website captivating. The blueprint details what we want to accomplish with the website and how we're going to do it. Details are hammered out - like who will be using the website, how long the project will take (most are 4 weeks), what features we'll use for the site (blog? email newsletters? online payments?), where the content is coming from (will you write it or will we?), and especially what action do we want site visitors to take.
You bring to the table an idea and a purpose. Before this step starts ask yourself: Why do I want a website? Is there a way to accomplish what I want without a website (we always ask this question first)? Who will look at my website and what will motivate them to keep looking?

After framing a few dozen sites from scratch, we started realizing there were some patterns that if we followed would save us time and you money. Now we use Drupal which is basically the equivalent of a pre-fab house - except that Drupal also gives us the flexibility we need to use it in any way. We can add extensions, break down walls, and basically change things however we want. In the framing stage, we setup Drupal and setup the features you will be using. It might not look pretty, but the structure will be there.
You bring to the table an intimate knowledge of what you do right now. What are your current systems? How do you convey information to others? The website should simplify and improve how you operate.

The exterior is the first impression of your site. It is how the website looks and usually determines what people will think of the site. We do an intensive week-long exterior design process and provide you with 4-5 designs early in the week. Then, we pick our favorite one or two and perfect them. With a website, if the designer and framer have experience working together, the Exterior can be created at the same time as the Framing is done. We've worked together a lot so we do these steps simultaneously.
You bring to the table who you are and your favorite things. Your preferences and flair change everything you touch - especially your website. We want to know what you like and what makes you cringe because the people coming to your site are coming because they are connected with you. The website should be an extension of you.

Voila! The exterior gets connected to the framing. The details get finished. The site is complete! Time for the unveiling!
You bring to the table a willingness to learn. Now we hand off the site to you (with extensive training). We'll be there to cover for you whenever you need it, but we've made it so you can keep the site up to date and exciting. Take ownership.
