Quest for Food: Eating out in McKinney, Texas
Some nights, I do not have the creativity or the energy to cook dinner. On those particular evenings, where should I go for a tasty meal? Since I have not lived in McKinney for my entire life, I must discover the restaurant gems set in this town on my own.Naturally I begin (as my stomach is growling) by searching online for “best restaurants in McKinney, Texas.” Most of reviews I saw online agreed that the following couple of restaurants are definitely worth a visit.
Many Chicagoan reviewers rave about Chicago Street Pizza. I definitely want to investigate this pizza parlor since those native to Chicago are praising this restaurant in McKinney. When I found their website, I saw that Chicago Street Pizza has been in McKinney, Texas for about five years. I also saw on their website that they have a very large menu. Not only does Chicago Street Pizza have 5+ different pizza crust styles to choose from, they also have salads, subs, calzone, and the absolutely necessary garlic bread. In addition, Chicago Street Pizza has lasagna, spaghetti, and wings. With such a large menu displayed on their website, I could hardly begin to solve my huger problem; I wanted to try everything.
The next restaurant that I found was called San Miguel Grill. Located in McKinney, Texas since 1992, this home style kitchen serves a savory mix of Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican food. Online reviews said that many McKinney families had become happy regulars. The menu listed on their website had fantastic classics like grilled chicken fajitas, tortilla soup, and sopapillas. Further exploration on the San Miguel Grill website showed me that this restaurant takes pride in recipes with chili pepper to ensure zing and authenticity. (At this point my stomach is now positively roaring.)
One thing I noticed when I browsed these websites is that both these restaurants are located along University Drive and are both reasonably priced. Now comes decision time: which specialty restaurant in McKinney, Texas to I try first?
