The McKinney Experiment: Google race for Website Design
Update: Wow! We already are up to the second page of results with the landing page, and the full-blown site was nowhere to be seen, so we got our results: landing page on an existing website is the winner! As a result, we've just set the full site to redirect to this site. Link removed below so Google won't get confused.
Deep in the bowels of the earth, the Covenant Web Design engineers hatched an ingenious experiment...
Location: A lab, beneath your home in McKinney.
Question: Which will Google rank higher - a dedicated website or a page on an existing website?
Conditions: Sunny, no chance of rain.
Lab Report
We have been ranked in the top results for "Ankeny Website Design" for quite some time. With Kaylee joining our team as Project Manager and living in McKinney, it was high-time to bring the good-times of Covenant Web Design to the fine folks of Texas.
We've already done projects for companies in Texas so word of mouth is great, but we want to make sure we're listed in the top results when people search for "McKinney Website Design". One way to do this is to have a page on our website dedicated to talking about McKinney and how we do website design there. This is likely to work, but might take a while while Google realizes that we're in multiple locations. The other way to accomplish this is launching a website dedicated solely to getting to the top of the McKinney Website Design search results crowd.
We did both.
Now we've got the landing page for McKinney Website Design on this site.
Aaaaand, the dedicated website for our McKinney Website Design (link removed per update at the top) friends on that site.
We're spreading the good news two ways, like sending a smoke signal and a carrier pigeon, but hopefully faster. Google usually takes a month or two to pick up new movements like this so we'll keep an eye on our mad science experiment on websites and let you know the outcome!
